The entire University of Louisville campus suffered a power outage for about three hours when an underground high voltage cable failed . "At around 9 :30 (p.m.), we had about 75 percent of the power restored," Mailette said. "There was one segment, including Confederale Apartments, that was not restored unt1l approximately 4 a .m. Saturday morning." Mailette said the faulty cable was located just oulside of Belknap Campus on Third Street, between two manholes. "What happened was that one leg of a high voltage cable went to In Sports: Dan Keller, Department of Public Safety d irector, said problems created by the blackout caused DPS to increase their patrols. Keller said ,"We immediately checked all the elevators, and found that one or two people were stuck " Keller said everyone on campus was well-behaved and relatively calm during the power outage.
