| Description | SUNSHINE, a side-wheel excursion and ferry boat with wood hull (175 ft. x 37 ft. x 5.8 ft.), was built at Howard in 1888. Owned by Louisville & Jeffersonville Ferry Co., SUNSHINE operated on the Ohio River in the Louisville area until 1907 when Captain William McNally bought SUNSHINE and moved her to Pittsburgh. When McNally died in 1921, John W. Hubbard bought SUNSHINE, renamed her PRINCESS (Way # 4594) and moved her back to the Louisville area. PRINCESS burned at Jeffersonville, Indiana in January, 1928. |
