| Description | W.C. HITE, a side-wheel ferry with wood hull (155 ft. x 36 ft. x 6.3 ft.), was built at Howard in 1882. Owned by Louisville & Jeffersonville Ferry Co., W.C. HITE operated on the Ohio River between Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana. W.C. HITE was rebuilt as an excursion boat named CORONA (Way #1332) in 1914. The CORONA was dismantled in 1916 and her machinery was used in the PILGRIM (Way #4501). |
