| Description | CITY OF FLORENCE, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (130 ft. x 26 ft. x 3 ft.), was built at Howard in 1909. Owned by St. Louis & Tennessee River Packet Co., she operated on the Tennessee River where she collided with the towboat TOMAHAWK, drifted about four miles, and sank near Coffee Landing on February 11, 1913. Divers found, and recovered items from, the wreckage in 1976. |
