| Description | CHICOT, a stern-wheel towboat with steel hull (107.2 ft. x 23.5 ft. x 4.8 ft.), was built at Howard in 1925. Owned by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Vicksburg district, she operated on the lower Mississippi River. In 1941, CHICOT was sold to Commercial Barge Line and renamed JEROME D. BEELER (Way T1362). The towboat was later renamed ALEC PARNIE (Way T0072) and converted to a diesel engine. |
