Description | MINNESOTA, a stern-wheel pleasure boat with steel hull (115.9 ft. x 30.2 ft. x 5.2 ft.), was built in 1915 - 1916 at Howard Shipyard for the Mayo Brothers of Rochester, Minnesota. The famous doctors ran her primarily on the Mississippi River and then sold her to U.S. Engineers in 1922. MINNESOTA was then renamed GENERAL ALLEN (Way #2224). She was later sold and converted into a floating restaurant named Cotton Blossom, which was moored in the St. Louis area when she sank on January 24, 1972. |
