| Description | JULIEN POYDRAS, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (145 ft. x 28 ft. x 4 ft.), was built at Howard in 1898. Owned by Baton Rouge & Bayou Sara Packet Co., JULIEN POYDRAS operated on the lower Mississippi River. JULIEN POYDRAS was bought by the Garig family and dismantled at Howard in 1904. Her hull went to the EAGLE (Way T0669). The engines, boilers and other items were used in the building of the WM. GARIG (Way #5812). |
