| Description | KATE ADAMS (Way #3217), a side-wheel packet with steel hull (240 ft. x 36 ft. x 8.5 ft.), was built at Howard in 1899. Owned by Memphis Arkansas City Packet Co., KATE ADAMS (Way #3217) operated on the lower Mississippi river between Memphis and Arkansas City, Arkansas. This boat, the third of three named Kate Adams, appeared in the movie "Uncle Tom's Cabin" in 1926. KATE ADAMS (Way #3217) burned at Memphis on January 8, 1927. |
