| Description | R. DUNBAR, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (160 ft. x 29.4 ft. x 6.4 ft.), was built at Howard in 1895. Owned by Ryman Line in Nashville, Tennessee, R. DUNBAR operated on the upper Cumberland River until 1918 when she was sold to Liberty Line, renamed GENERAL CROWDER (Way #2236) and moved to the upper Ohio River. When Liberty Line ceased operations in 1926, GENERAL CROWDER was sold to New Orleans interest but burned at Slidell, Louisiana before operations started. |
