| Description | THOMAS PICKLES, a center wheel ferry with steel catamaran hulls (13 ft. x 54 ft. x 7 ft.), was built at Howard in 1892. Owned by Union Ferry Co. in New Orleans, THOMAS PICKLES operated in the New Orleans area. She could carry fifty cars and 250 passengers. THOMAS PICKLES was lost in hurricane Betsy in 1965. |
