CITIZENS IN SUIT TO MOVE PRINCIPAL Would Oust Prof. Reed Thru Courts After Failure Of Board To Dismiss Him Upon Hearing Charges (Special to The Leader) Bowling Green, Ky., Nov. 20.--Suit was filed in Warren County Circuit Court Tuesday morning by Attorneys Rodes and Harlin, representing Clarence M. Ray, W. S. Yarborough, William Wolfe, John T. Porter, William Nelson and E. I. Smith, colored citizens against the City Board of Education, seeking the removal of Prof. E. E. Reed, President of the Kentucky Negro Educational Association and principal of the colored public schools of the city. The petition charges Reed has been guilty of grossly immoral conduct and drunkenness, and that notwithstanding affidavits have been filed with the board showing these facts, it continues, Prof. Reed in the position of principal, acting arbitrarily and unreasonably to the hurt and detriment of the women and children attending the colored schools [in?] the city. Prof. Reed claims that the charge against him is a program of his enemies and that he will be able to vindicate himself in court.
