A large crowd gathered to greet President Hoover at Louisville's wharf on October 23rd , 1929 . Hoover is disembarking from the Greenbriar steamboat to give a speech on his waterways program . The towboat , C.C Slider is out on the River behind the Greenbriar and the Louisville & Cincinnati Packet steamboat is to the right .
