Description | TENNESSEE (Way #5339), a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (170 ft. x 32 ft. x 5.5 ft.), was built at Howard in 1897. Owned by St. Louis & Tennessee River Packet Co., TENNESSEE) operated on the Tennessee and Ohio Rivers between Nashville, Tennessee and Evansville, Indiana. TENNESSEE was in the boat parade when President Theodore Roosevelt went down the Mississippi in 1907. She snagged and was lost at Little Blue Bend, Missouri on September 11, 1908. |
