Description
A studio portrait of the Reverend John Little , a white Presbyterian minister . Little , a native of Alabama , was a graduate of Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville and the supervisor of Hope Presbyterian Mission that served African-American residents in the Smoketown neighborhood of Louisville . The mission became one of the first community centers for African Americans in the United States . Little is shown wearing suit and tie and horn-rimmed glasses .
