Description
Dancers take to the floor as a band plays . The musicians play trombone , tuba , piano , drum , and possibly an oboe . Tables surround the dance floor on three sides and show evidence of beer and wine drinks . The edges of the open air room are walls of what looks like faux brick trimmed with light bulbs . While the party-goers and band appear to be white , the waiters in dark pants and white coats all appear to be African American . According to the Clarksville Historical Society , the Log Cabin was a casino with attached motels , built in 1926 and rebuilt following a fire in 1929 . Tommy Dorsey , Glen Miller , and Lawrence Welk are said to have performed there.
