multi-story
Ionic
columns
topped
by a
pediment
.
Above
the
doorway
,
partially
obscured
by a
column
,
is
a
sign
reading
, "
Board
of
Ed
" The
Board
of
Education
was
located
at
8th
and
Chestnut
Streets
in
1934
. This
building
formerly
served
as the
first
home
of
University
of
Louisville
Medical
School
,
named
the
Louisville
Medical
Institute
in
1837-1846
and
renamed
University
of
Louisville
Medical
School
(1846-1907)
.
