Description
A view of the Starks Building located at 455 South 4th St . at the intersection of 4th and Walnut St . (now Muhammad Ali Blvd.) , taken from an elevated position . The building features 14 stories , awnings on the first floor , and Beaux Arts details . Cars are parked along both sides of 4th and Walnut Streets . A street railroad car is traveling west down Walnut . Built in 1913 , the building was designed by Chicago architectural firm Daniel Burnham and named for local businessman John Starks Rodes , who commissioned the building .
