Description
The newly completed construction of the Pendennis Club located at 218 Walnut Street (now Muhammad Ali Blvd.) . The three story building features stone work on the first level and brickwork on the top two levels . The roof has a balustrade and several large chimneys . There are steps leading up to the entrance and the front of the property is surrounded by a short concrete railing with balusters . To the left of the building is a driveway with an arched carport with a lantern hanging from the ceiling . A car is parked along the street in front of the building . The building next to the club has a painted sign that reads "Louisville Herald Office. " The Pendennis Club , a private social club , was established in 1881 .
