Description
Address : 319 W . Jefferson Street , Louisville , Kentucky . The Tyler Block is capped by a triangular pediment with a center medallion carving that reads , "Tyler Block 1874. " The first floor of this complex is made up of stores while upper floors appear to be used for offices , such as American Federation of Labor and Kentucky State Federation of Labor . The first floor shops include : a hat store , Remington Rand , Max Goldberg Clothier (furnishings , and ready-made or tailor-made clothing) , and Sherwin-Williams (paints , varnishes , enamels , wallpapers) . The building is connected to several utility lines and a street lamp stands in front of the entrance . The Tyler Block was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 .
