Description
A young woman stands in a display window preparing oysters to be fried . She wears a sign over her apron saying , "We serve the original John A. Mazzoni fried oysters. " Another sign indicates "Made fresh before your eyes . Fried . 49 doz. " and "Ready to fry 38 doz. " The front window is filled with oysters and has a fishing net as decoration . Aisles of products are visible behind the young woman . Mazzoni's rolled oysters were served at Mazzoni's Cafe (a bar) beginning in 1884 ; after Prohibition , the bar became a restaurant , and their signature dish was widely copied .
