Description
The Confederate Monument , completed in 1895 , was located at the convergence of Second Street and Third Street in Louisville , Ky . The base of the 70 foot statue is granite and the three soldiers at its base are made of bronze . A bronze infantry man sits at the top of a column . Lampposts surround the base of the monument . Behind the monument are residences along what used to be named Confederate Place (now Unity Place) . The monument was moved to Brandenburg , Kentucky in 2016 .
