The Sherman Minton Bridge spans over the Ohio River as its construction neared completion in the summer of 1962 . The double-deck bridge between Louisville , Kentucky , and New Albany , Indiana , is named for U . S . Supreme Court Justice Sherman Minton , a native of New Albany .
