room
with a
grid
of
metal
beams
at the
ceiling
within
the
Palace
of
Agriculture
at the
World's
Fair
in
St
.
Louis
,
Missouri
. On
top
of
one
of the
displays
, an
enormous
model
of a
tobacco
leaf
rises
between
two
octagonal
cases
with
hogshead
of
tobacco
.
Further
down
from the
tobacco
exhibit
,
another
display
says
"
James
Plagniol
,
Marseille.
"
According
to the
report
of
Kentucky's
World's
Fair
Commission
, this
view
was
taken
from a
point
near
the
main
entrance
of the
Palace
of
Agriculture
, and the
leaf
in the
foreground
stood
45
feet
high
.
Kentucky's
tobacco
exhibit
was the
largest
at the
World's
Fair
,
comprising
4628
square
feet
.
