sheaths

each
wearing
a
different
style
of
hat
,
hold
swords
.
Behind
them
is
a
hut
and
trees
. They are
Bagobo
Moros
, a
Muslim
tribe
from the
western
coast
of
Mindanao
in the
Philippine
Islands
.
Since
the
World's
Fair
in
St
.
Louis
,
Missouri
was
held
shortly
after
the
conclusion
of the
Spanish-American
War
(1898)
,
which
brought
the
Philippines
under
U.S
.
rule
, the
large
Philippine
Exhibit
was
intended
to
expose
fair
visitors
to the
people
and
resources
of the
protectorate
and to
acculturate
Filipinos
to the
U.S
.
