building
with
front
entrance
pillars
and also a
small
side
porch
. There are
pediments
over
the
top
floor's
windows
,
grouped
in
three
clusters
of
two
or
three
. The
school
was
established
in
1856
and
claims
to be the
oldest
public
high
school
west
of the
Allegheny
Mountains
.
Louisville
Male
High
School
moved
to the
Brook
and
Breckenridge
location
in
1915
and
moved
to a
new
site
on
Preston
Highway
in
1991
. The
Salvation
Army
purchased
the
site
,
known
as the
Spectrum
Building
, in
2007
. The
school
became
the
first
magnet/optional
program
in
Jefferson
County
in the
1970s
when
it
was
named
a
Traditional
High
School
. The
school
became
coed
in
1952
.
