man
whose
greatness
has
never
been
surpassed

whom
Americans
thank

and the

owes
its
love
and
esteem.
"
Above
the
writing
is
a
section
of
marble
embossed
with
people
in the
center
and
ribboned
garlands
with
stars
in them at the
sides
.
Above
that
is
a
portrait
of
George
Washington
, then a
second
story
window
, then a
bust
.
Between
the
left
first
and
second
story
windows
,
within
a
square
,
is
a
slightly
larger
marble
garland
with "
Th
.
Lamlein
"
written
in the
center
. The
Heigold
House
was
built
by
Christian
Heigold
, a
German
immigrant
and
stonecutter
,
between
1857
and
1866
, in an
area
known
as The
Point
(now
part
of
Butchertown)
. The
house
was
put
on the
National
Register
of
Historic
Places
in
1978
.
