Description |
Bow and port side of CITY OF SAVANNAH (Way #1135), almost complete, tied to the bank of the Ohio River at Howard Shipyard. CITY OF SAVANNAH, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (186 ft. x 31 ft. x 5 ft.), was built in 1889. Owned by St. Louis & Tennessee River Packet Co., she operated primarily on the Mississippi River and burned at the Memphis, Tennessee wharf on September 18, 1897. |
