Description |
Stern and port side of CITY OF SHEFFIELD, tied to the bank of the Ohio River at Howard Shipyard. CITY OF SHEFFIELD, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (183 ft. x 35 ft.), was built by Howard in 1890. While operating on the Mississippi River, she sank and was raised twice, in 1894 and 1895, before being lost in a fire at Grand Tower, Illinois on October 22, 1902. |
