Description |
Stern view of towboat W.W. O'NEIL and other boats in ice on the Ohio River. Louisville Water Company pumping station is in the background. W.W. O'NEIL, a stern wheel towboat with a wood hull (201 ft. x 46 ft. x 8 ft.) was built at Pittsburgh in 1896. Owned by the W.W. O'Neil & Co., she was known as one of the great steamboats carrying huge tows of coal out of Pittsburgh to markets on the Ohio and lower Mississippi Rivers until she burned on November 25, 1913. |
