Description |
Bow and port side of stern-wheeler CARRIE HOPE, at the bank of the Ohio River, while be renovated at Howard Shipyard. CARRIE HOPE, a stern-wheel packet with wood hull (150 ft. x 27.3 ft. x 4.5 ft.), was originally named C.N. DAVIS when she was built by Howard in 1879. Owned by J.W. Lovell & W.S. Bowman, CARRIE HOPE operated on the Cumberland, Wabash and lower Ohio Rivers before being lost in ice at Louisville, Kentucky in February, 1895. |
