Description
A two story brick house with Federal and Greek Revival elements located at 2837 Riedling Dr . in Louisville , Ky . Stairs with side railings lead up to an elevated first floor entrance above ground level . A portico supported by four ionic columns is over the central doorway . Two pairs of windows with shutters flank the entrance . A lower half-level has four additional windows with shutters . Four large chimneys are visible on the roof . At the top of the roof is a square shaped cupola . The house was built by David Chambers circa 1837-1838 . It was later owned by Francis Thompson . The Thompson family owned it until 1911 when it was sold to the Southern Baptist Seminary . In 1922 R . D . Reidling purchased property and owned it until 1944 . Title supplied by cataloger .
