Description
Bennett H . Young was born in Nicholasville , Kentucky , in 1843 . He joined the Confederate army in 1861 , served with John Hunt Morgan raiders . Captured in a 1863 raid in Ohio , he escaped to Canada where he organized a daring series of bank robberies in St . Albans , Vermont . He remained an exile until 1868 , studying law in Ireland and Scotland . After his return he became a prominent Louisville attorney and officer of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad before his death in 1919 .
