Description
William P . D . Bush was born in 1823 on his father's farm in Hardin County , Kentucky . He was educated at the Hardin Seminary in Elizabethtown , Kentucky . After reading law , in 1846 he was admitted to the bar and was appointed deputy clerk of the county and circuit courts of Hancock County . During the Mexican War , he served in the Fourth Kentucky Infantry Regiment . On his return he opened a law office in Hawesville . He was selected Hancock County attorney . In 1853 , Bush was elected as a Whig to represent Hancock County in the Kentucky legislature . He served again from 1861 to 1863 and again from 1865 to 1867 as a Democrat . In 1868 he was appointed as reporter of the decisions of the Kentucky Court of Appeals , a position he held for twelve years . Bush died in Louisville in 1904 and was buried in Cave Hill Cemetery .
