Description	Oscar Turner was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1825 and moved with his parents to Fayette County, Kentucky, in 1826. He graduated from the law department of Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky, in 1847 and was admitted to the Kentucky bar. He established a thriving practice in Ballard County. He served as commonwealth attorney from 1851-1855 and represented Ballard County in the Kentucky senate from 1867-1871. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representative and served from 1879-1885. He died in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1896 and was buried in Cave Hill Cemetery.
