Description
William Murphy Reed , of Benton , Kentucky , was born in 1848 , in Graves County , Kentucky . He acquired his education in Benton Seminary , of Marshall County , Kentucky , and in Princeton College . He read law with Philander Palmer , of Benton , Kentucky , and was admitted to the bar in Benton in 1873 . He maintained offices in Benton and in Paducah , Kentucky . His firm was attorney for many leading corporations . He served for four years as county attorney of Marshall County and for several years represented his district in the state legislature . In 1903 , he was elected circuit court judge , serving until 1922 .
