We take pride in our ability to assist employers as well by providing a variety of services designed to meet specific hiring needs. We welcome the opportunity to discuss employment needs and will be happy to arrange any of the following services for you. On-campus interviewing offers a convenient method of securing your employment needs, whether you seek a graduate for an immediate opening, a third-year student for future employment, or a second- or first-year student for a clerking position. This method allows employers to meet with several students in a few hours and select those who qualify for more extensive interviews at the home offices or headquarters. Such concentration of interviews is more efficient than sorting through numerous resumes throughout the year. On-campus interviews may be scheduled at any time during the year (excepting vacation or examination periods). As many students make employment commitments by early February,.most employers have found that the prime interviewing period is between mid-September and midDecember. On-campus interviews should be arranged with the Placement Office no later than two weeks in advance of the prospective interview date. Our interview facilities are available to you Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interviews are usually scheduled at 20 or 30 minute intervals, depending on the employer's preference. We encourage the employer to forward a firm resume and/or a brief description of the requirements sought in an applicant so that students may consider these qualifications before requesting an interview. While it is our goal to provide the employer a great opportunity to interview those who meet its qualifications, we actively discourage employers from restricting interviews on the basis of academic standing. Strict admissions policies and high academic standards are a strong recommendation for any University of Louisville law student. For those employers who are unable to interview on campus, the Placement Office will be happy to post notice of the available position on our bulletin board and to place your firm resume on file. Students can then call or send their resumes directly to you, or if you prefer, we can collect and forward the resumes of interested and qualified applicants. As a service to both our students and the legal community, the Placement Office operates a job-listing service for current clerking and full-time positions available in Louisville and the greater Kentuckiana area. Each listing describes the duties to be performed, the number of hours required each week, the qualifications for employment To the Law School Community: Again it is our privilege to publish the Senior Bulletin, in which we briefly describe the achievements of our senior class. The members of the present class are not only the brightest that we have ever known, but are also the best trained. In recent years, the law school has increased the amount of skills training, as well as instruction in the theory of law which a student acquired during his three years professional education. The result is that our graduating seniors are better than they have ever'{Jeen. We hope you will give serious consideration to the outstanding credentials of these young men and women-To the extent that they may become associated with you in the practice of law;-we know that you both will profit in the years that lie ahead . and the hourly rate of pay (or annual salary). These listings are posted on the Placement bulletin board, located in the main lobby of the law school for student access and convenience, and are updated regularly to assure efficiency in the hiring process. If your firm or agency is in need of legal assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. The placement newsletter, "Going Places," is published on a monthly, no-charge basis for distribution to alumni and provides current information on available legal posltwns, the qualifications desired, the area of practice, and the procedure for application. Alumni and employers alike have found our newsletter to be particularly useful in meeting their immediate needs, as it coordinates their efforts in an ordinarily timeconsuming process. Any alumni who would like to receive our newsletter should contact us for placement on our mailing list. As a special feature, the Place-ment Office conducts a Career Night program each fall, where students may meet and discuss career options with representatives from law and. law-related fields. In addition to the above services, the Placement Office also operates an informal counseling service for all interested students. The service is designed to aid in preparing resumes and interviews, and operates a permanent filing service for student resumes and letters of recommendation. The Placement Office of the University of Louisville, working closely with the Faculty Committee and the SBA, hopes to publish a pamphlet on our placement services in the near future for mailing to law schools and prospective regional employers. We are constantly working together to upgrade the quality and efficiency of our placement services at the University of Louisville School of Law. We strongly encourage any comments and suggestions for improvement.

Description | The Senior Bulletin was produced by the School of Law in 1962 and from 1974-1999 (except the 1976-1977 school year). Doubling as a yearbook and a guide for employers, it contains photographs and short biographies of the members of the graduating class. For the school years between 1962-1963 and 1973-1974, student biographies and photographs were included in The Louisville Lawyer student newspaper. Pages and covers that have no text and are not necessary to keep the pagination of the issue correct have been eliminated. |

Terry Tyler University of Louisville, School of Law, S~ Qi 9f'tJ!lll'rt.i1! • • - ·--·- -""""--~---~· Placentent Service The Law School Placement Service was organized in 1976 to assist students in planning and directing their careers upon graduation and to aid alumni in securing new or different types of employment. |
