He appeared in four productions at Macauley's Theatre between 1909 and 1923 . His inscription to Col . Macauley references the "Chili Con Carne Club " a men's poker group spearheaded by Macauley , dating this photo to his 1909 appearance in "The Soul Kiss " (since Macauley passed away in 1915) .
