Description
Portrait of actor and producer Henry Clay Barnabee , who has white hair and wears a suit jacket and tie with stickpin . Born November 14 , 1833 , in Portsmouth , New Hampshire , Barnabee joined the Boston Ideal Opera Company (performing with them at Macauley's Theatre in January 1884) , and later helped form an offshoot , the Bostonians , to perform American comic operas . The Bostonians performed at Macauley's Theatre ten times between February 1888 and October 1903 . Barnabee died December 16 , 1917 , in Jamaica Plains , Massachusetts . Location of photo studio : Boston (Mass.)
