A woman in a short velvet dress with an emblem of a heart holds a fencing epee . She sits , with one leg crossed over the other , on a brocade divan , surrounded by pillows . A fencing helmet rests beside her. Judging by the title , she performed with Anna Held (187- ? - 1918) , a Polish-born actress , lyricist , and composer who had been married to Maximo Carrera and Florenz Ziegfield , Jr . Anna Held's troupe performed in "The Little Duchess " at Macauley's Theatre on April 4 , 1902 . Location of photo studio : Philadelphia (Pa.)
