Description	Promotional ad in the New York Tribune for J. M. Barrie's "A Kiss for Cinderella" starring Maude Adams, which apparently played at the Hollis St. Theatre in New York in January 1917. It features four images from the play, with actors Maude Adams, Norman Trevor, and Morton Selten named. Actress Maude Adams was born Maude Ewing Adams Kiskadden in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 11, 1872, and died July 17, 1953 in Tannersville, New York. She appeared at Macauley's Theatre thirteen times between 1902 and 1918, including in "A Kiss for Cinderella" in April 1918. Norman Trevor, a stage and screen actor, producer, and director, was born June 23, 1877 in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, India, and died October 31, 1929 in Norwalk, California. Actor Morton Selten (also known as Morton Selton) was born January 6, 1860 in Marlborough, England, and died July 27, 1939, in London, England. He also appeared at Macauley's Theatre in "Merely Mary Ann" in November 1905. Text on print: Maude Adams A Kiss for Cinderella. Hollis St. Theatre Matinees Wednesday and Sunday. A whimsy of a fairyland bordering on the realm of mortals is Maude Adam's new play "A Kiss for Cinderella" by J. M. Barrie. Prince Hard-to-Please (Our Policeman) is overcome by the sight of Cinderella's tiny foot. The setting of this scene was adapted from one of Maxfield Parrish's gorgeous "Arabian Nights" paintings. "The King, God bless him!" Cinderella (Miss Adams), the romantic policeman (Norman Trevor) and the war orphans drink a patriotic toast in milk. Cinderella, with the aid of a tape measure, compares herself with the Venus de Milo. She finds their resemblance confined to feet. Our Policeman suspects Cinderella of being a German spy. Mr. Bodie (Morten Selten), defends her. Location of photo studio: New York (N.Y.)
