Full-length character portrait of actress Rachel Booth (1862-1955) standing on a tree stump in front of a set backdrop of an outdoor scene , wearing a white bonnet and polka-dot dress . Booth married actor James T . Powers (1862-1943) in 1892 . Her inscription referencing "ratcatcher " indicates that she may have played a role in "The Ratcatcher " (a version of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin " which was performed at Macauley's Theatre by the Kiralfy Brothers ' Company on April 5-10 and September 14-18 , 1886 . Inscription on mount verso , upper center : Yours ratcatcherly , Rachel Booth . Location of photo studio : Chicago (Ill.)
