Description	Portrait of left profile of performer Barbara Milton wearing a dress with bib collar and black bow. Barbara Milton, also known as Barbara Milton Watkins Strater (following her marriage to Edward L. Strater), was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 8, 1898. After graduating from high school in June 1916, she acted professionally until her marriage in October 1921. She later performed with the Little Theatre Co. in Louisville. According to a biographical note accompanying it, the photograph was taken in San Francisco in August 1916 while playing in "Bit of Love" with Henry Miller Company. Inscription on print, lower right: To my first stage manager, Barbara Milton. Location(s) of photo studio: San Francisco (Calif.); Los Angeles (Calif.). Title supplied by cataloger.
