Title	Hegan Family.
Creator	Matlack, Claude Carson, 1878-1944 (collector)
Description	Well-dressed men and women stand and sit around a dinner table in a residential dining room. A warming carafe and other items are on the table. The woman seated second from the left is believed to be author Alice Caldwell Hegan. And this may be the Hegan household located on Fourth Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky which, according to the U.S. Census in 1900, consisted of Samuel (b.1843), Sallie (b. 1848), their daughter Alice (b. 1870), their son James (b. 1871), James' wife Eunice (b. 1876), James' son Barber (b. 1898), and Sallie's sister, Fannie Macauley (b. 1863), who was also an author known as Frances Little. The other young man is probably Cale Young Rice, who married Alice Caldwell Hegan in December, 1902.
