A large wrought iron gate is framed by two brick columns at the entrance to Tuliphurst , an historic home in Pewee Valley , Kentucky (NHRP Bldg . #89001979) . Handwritten on album page by photographer Kate Matthews : "Tuliphurst ' gateway ". Inscriptions in the album , which Kate Matthews gave to her great-nephew , Charles B . Fletcher , Jr. , include : "Beautiful Pewee Valley , Photographs by Kate Matthews " (p . 1) and "This book is affectionately dedicated to Charlie " (p . 2) .
