Ivy grows by the door and Tudor-style windows at the entrance of the house of Twigmore in Pewee Valley , Kentucky . A cast iron chair and garden table sit near the door . The stone house was owned by Lillian Fletcher , niece of photographer Kate Matthews . Handwritten on album page by photographer Kate Matthews : "Doorway , Twigmore ". Inscriptions in the album , which Kate Matthews gave to her great-nephew , Charles B . Fletcher , Jr. , include : "Beautiful Pewee Valley , Photographs by Kate Matthews " (p . 1) and "This book is affectionately dedicated to Charlie " (p . 2) .
