A small dog , perhaps Pekingese , lies on a small bench on top of a table . He is looking up at a framed photograph of an antebellum couple by Kate Matthews (ULPA 2007.14.031.p) . There are also books , a basket with knitting needles and yarn , and a vase of flowers on the table . Handwritten on the photograph , "Yours for the asking dear Marco , from Do Do. " Title supplied by cataloger .
