Description	A circular driveway leads to The Beeches, Annie Fellows Johnston's home in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. The two-story frame house is partially obscured by large beech trees. Two women sit in the shade of a tree on the left. Mrs. Johnston bought The Beeches from the Lawton family in 1911 and lived there until her death in 1931. In the Little Colonel books, written by Johnston, The Beeches was home to the fictional Walton family which was modeled on the real-life Lawton family.
