Title	Female High School, Louisville, Kentucky.
Description	Female High School in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Handwritten on bottom of mounted print: "R.G. Potter, Collection; The Female High School west side of First St. north of Chestnut St. was completed in Aug. 1873 at a cost of $115, 242.71. Six hundred pupils could be accommodated. It had 16 large rooms plus a chapel and lecture room." The high school moved in 1899, changed its name to Louisville Girls High School in 1911, and moved to what is now duPont Manual High School in 1934, merging with that school in 1950. This building was used for Male High School until 1915, when the site was used for Ahren's Trade School. Title supplied by cataloger.
