Delta Point , Louisiana . Levee Building Operations . Drag-line crane dumping dirt from "borrow pit " into "Euke ". A borrow pit is the area from which the dirt is obtained for building the levee . It is usually located just under the levee on the edge toward the river . A "Euke " is the familiar tern for a particular type of dump truck which has the trade name "Euclid ".
