Description
Bayou Pier Part . A dead live-oak tree . One sees many such trees in the bayou country . When the huge crown of the live-oak interferes with the garden , the Acadians cut a ring around the tree to deaden it , but is not cut down because the lumber is of little use , and too much work is involved to cart it away . A dead tree can stand like this for decades .
